The research participants have their own experiences when they ere admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. This phenomenological study explores the descriptions of the lived experiences of the research participants who had been confined in the Intensive Care Unit and their understanding on how they were able to cope up with their challenging experiences. After reading and analyzing the verbatim scripts several times, and highlighting the significant statements with their meaning we came up with 20 significant statements and cluster it into six categorized as textural and structural theme.Findings were respondents experienced fear during their stay in the ICU and they also mention about their health concern, feeling of weakness and dependence. The respondents feel the health care providers are lacking with care and compassion. They cope up to those challenging experiences as an ICU patient with the help and support of their families, through prayer and their attitude towards being optimistic had helped them to surpass their condition or adapt better to stressful situations.
