Twenty patients qualified from 50 patients screened but drop out rate was 55%. Nine patients completed. Three female and 6 males ranging from 23 to 52 years old with duration of stone formation diagnosed from one month to 17 years. Pain at the flank or lumbar area was the most common complaint usually accompanied by urgency and frequency of urination.

All showed presence of stone on intravenous pyelography or ultrasound either cystolithiasis, ureterolithiasis or staghorn calculus. The results of the 3 others are being awaited. Evaluation of patients cannot be done as yet since we are awaiting reading of X-rays by a single radiologist and return of all results of blood biochemistries, urinary chemistries and urinalysis.
