Context: Based on the 2013 National Demographic and Health Survey, one in ten Filipino teenagers has begun childbearing. Teenage pregnancy is associated with increased risk of maternal and fetal complications. In fact, it is the second most common cause of death among women ages 15-19 years old. Objectives: To determine the most prevalent maternal complication of teenage pregnancies delivered in Vicente Sotto Memorial Center (VSMMC) from January 2016-June 2016. Design: Descriptive study. Setting: The study was conducted at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, a government owned general, tertiary medical center utilized as a teaching and/or training medical facility. The hospital has an accredited training program for Obstetrics and Gynecology. Population: The study included all pregnant teenagers who delivered at Vicente Memorial Medical Center from January 2016 to June 2016. Maneuvers: The study was submitted to the Ethics Review Committee of the Cebu Institute of Medicine and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for approval. Subjects were identified by the medical records staff. Medical records of the said subjects were reviewed and data pertinent to the study were obtained and tabulated. Results: Among the 157 teenage pregnancies recorded from January to June 2016 at VSMMC, 47.77% were 18 years old while  only 0.64% were 13 years of age. Premature rupture of membranes comprised 27.57% of the listed maternal complications. Term birth was documented in 73.25% of teenage pregnancies within the said time duration.  Conclusion: According to age, most of the teenage pregnant women were 18 years old at the time of delivery. Premature rupture of membrane was the most commonly encountered maternal complication and term birth was the most frequent fetal outcome.
